Featured Vendor: Dreamfarm (July 2026)

As we delve further into the summer farming season, we can’t help but feel grateful for everyone that works hard to allow us to get delicious, local food to you – our dedicated team members, our creative chefs and restaurateurs, and, of course, our faithful vendors! Our Farm Store is only able to offer such a wide variety of quality products because of our relationships with some of the best producers in Wisconsin.

In this season of abundance and joy, we feel it’s only fitting to begin a new initiative where we recognize our vendors and the labor and care they put into each of their products for you to enjoy.

We’re kicking off this new series with our first featured vendor for July 2026 – Dreamfarm!

A Brief History

Based in Cross Plains, WI, owners Diana and Jim Murphy started Dreamfarm in 2002 as a family farmstead. Operating on the same 25 acres since the farm’s inception, Dreamfarm received their milking facility license in 2003 and their creamery license in 2004. Diana also became a certified cheesemaker in 2004, enabling the farm to begin producing and selling cheese from their very own livestock.

Dreamfarm’s primary animals are goats and Jersey cows, but they also care for chickens, ducks, pigs, and steers. Dogs and cats support the farm through pest control, patrols, and being adorable companions ☺️. Many tasks are done by hand at Dreamfarm, both because of scale and because it allows for greater control over the functioning of the farm. This complete ownership over production is what farmsteading at Dreamfarm is all about – managing all inputs to ensure the family’s values are represented in the outputs.

The Vitruvian team took a field trip to Dreamfarm last year. Here, they’re meeting with Diana, her dog (Finnegan), and her goats!

Living Their Values

Farmsteading is just one of Dreamfarm’s four guiding tenets, along with artisanal, seasonal, and organic. They value the autonomy afforded by farmsteading to ensure their artisan products are specially crafted to meet their high quality standards. Following a seasonal schedule allows Dreamfarm to align their production with the life cycles of their animals, supporting both human and animal wellbeing.

Dreamfarm has been certified organic since 2004. They treasure the relationship between farmer and animal, and they believe following organic practices is the best way to honor it. One way this manifests is by not using any synthetic materials to raise animals and grow crops.

Their commitment to the organic label allows them to fulfill their responsibility to their animals, their land, and their customers – we think they’ve goat the right idea 😉.

For Dreamfarm’s animals to remain certified organic, the land they graze on must also remain organic.

Available at the Farm Store

Our decision to partner with a vendor extends beyond just the products they make. Vitruvian Farms co-owner, Tommy Stauffer, elaborates on our relationship with Dreamfarm below:

We love working with Dreamfarm… because they are making one of the best artisan products in Wisconsin. If you ask chefs around the area what is one of their favorite local cheeses to work with… they will say Dreamfarm's chèvre. But almost equally as important, we love working with Dreamfarm because Diana and the Murphy family are some of the best people you can find. They are kind, hardworking, generous, and they give so much care to their animals and the land.

Here at Vitruvian, we are proud to carry Dreamfarm’s Fresh Goat Cheese and Dreamsauce in our Farm Store.

The Fresh Goat Cheese comes in a range of flavors including Plain, Garlic Dill, and other seasonal variations. Available in 7 oz containers.

Dreamsauce is a creamy caramel spread with a goat milk base. It’s a wonderful topping for fruit, pretzels, desserts, or a spoon! Available in 10 oz jars in the refrigerator section.
